The semi-trailers are coming to the market in new version
The S-Profit Opava s.r.o. which continues more than 50 years old tradition in manufacturing of semi-trailers and/or trailers in the region of Opava came into the market with its new range of semi-trailers in 2009. The company can offer 17 different types with payload between 2,1 and 20 Tonnes. During the last months they underwent significant innovations and other renovation will be done next year. An official presentation of completely new version is expected during the TECHAGRO 2010 exhibition.
The company from Opava - S-Profit Opava s.r.o. has also been interesting in supplying the farms with pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, agricultural products, diesel fuel. The S-profit Opava operates also its own tire repair shop for cars and trucks. In 2007, the S-PROFIT OPAVA s.r.o. opened a new Division for Agricultural Machines.
This Division is focused on design development, production, service and sale of semi-trailers under the registered mark BIG. Today the company has departments for its own Design, Production and distribution network both in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This year was again a successful business year for the S-PROFIT OPAVA s.r.o. The company has been developing a dunghill with horizontal spreading in addition to the semi-trailers. For now it is only a prototype which is testing. It is expected to be sold in the course of next year.
Utilization in Agriculture and Civil Engineering
The BIG semi-trailers can be used for transportation of agricultural products on different ground conditions. The semi-trailers have a steel structure and the chassis frame consists of a weldment made from the hollow sections and it is reinforced with walls. The frame is placed on the BOGIE or TANDEM chassis, its structure can be used on irregular land surface thanks to the spring-loaded axles with the leaf springs. The manoeuvrability on the ground is additionally increased by the back axle adjusting. There is a hydraulic piston rod in the frame enabling the body dumping. The body is made from steel and it is inclusive of the spine frame. The small models with payload up to 7 t are only produced in the three-side tipping version and as for the types with payload between 10 to 16 t you can make a choice for one-side or three-side tipping. The biggest BIG 25000 semi-trailer has only the one-side tipping. There are two types of tows in the offer - a pivoted one of 50 mm or the K80 versions, and of course several types of tyres. Additionally, as an option you can also have grain door on the back door, bottom central opening of the side-gates, tarpaulin, axle lock when dumping or incl. extension boards in different heights. Each semi-trailer can also be equipped with discharging worm-conveyor and so the transport solution of the given products is performed on the requested place, i.e. the seed is sent to the sowing machine or the fertilizer into the spreader, etc.. These units have been delivered by the Czech producer Agrimont in various widths and heights with the capacity up to 50 t / hour.
Innovations
As mentioned above by the CEO of the S-Profit Opava s. r. o. - Mr. Ladislav Fuchsík, the BIG semi-trailers have recently been innovated and other changes have still been developing. „Since August of this year, all semi-trailers up to 16 t can also be equipped with the three-side tipping with the side boards made from the Fuhrmann sections ensuring the needed cohesion of different products during the transport. We will use axles from the German producer of BPW because of the continuous quality improvement of our machines during the next year which will make a part of our standard equipment. Some positive design modifications have been performed according to our experience and requests of the farmers this year. For 2010 we prepare a quite new range of models as for the one side - tipping semi-trailers inclusive of the lightweight body which points out a higher authorized payload and so it is also possible to be used to transport the building material" as informed us Mr. Fuchsík. The further improvement of the BIG semi-trailers is represented by a reinforcement of both the chassis and tow bar and concerning the types with their payload from 16 t and more, we propose new position of the piston rod in the front door of the semi-trailer. This system will also be used for other types in the future.
We can also make a semi-trailer according to the wish of any customer if he or she can not find a suitable machine among the proposed types. „We are also able to produce any semi-trailer made - to - measure for both the agricultural and non-agricultural operations including the various coating within our design workplace" said Mr. Fuchsík.
Axles of Good Quality
The German company BPW Bergische Achsen KG which is the European axle and bogie leader for semi-trailers and trailers will start supplying us the axles in case of the BIG semi- trailers from 2010. This company cooperates also with other famous producers of agricultural machines like Claas, Krone, Póttinger, John Deere or Fliegl.
You can choose naked axles or complete axle assemblies including springing system in the BPW product line. Besides of the classical leaf springs which are more suitable for light soiled ground the company proposes also suspension sets for heavy operation with an oscillation up to 300 mm. BWP performs also the brake and riding tests not only in the field but also using special test equipment. The company owns its research centre with a surface of 3 000 m2, it executes load and other tests for all components. All axles and spring suspension go through KTL cataphoresis surface treatment, no additional coating is needed and they possess a faultless corrosion protection. The utilization of the steering axle is very significant today not only because of money savings thanks to the lower fuel consumption but also due to the less wear of tyres and it improves also the manoeuvrability and it is also friendly to the road surface or other ground condition. The BPW agricultural steering axle derives benefit from the long-term experience in its development for the road version. It is equipped with a couple of special thrust washers providing the axle stability up to the speed above 40 km/h. This solution is patented by the BPW company The farmers can persuade by themselves as for the quality of new types of the BIG semi-trailers during the Techagro 2010 exhibition in Brno and other similar events where you are all warmly invited, said Mr. Fuchsík,
